What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory & Asset Accounting Technician position at City of Springfield (MO)?
- Perform highly detailed data analysis related to accounting functions and inventory management for airport budget and inventory systems.
- Coordinate, manage, and analyze data using databases, spreadsheets, and advanced analytical tools.
- Track, document, and maintain the complete asset history, including lifecycle costs and maintenance records for airport infrastructure, facilities, and equipment.
- Assist in financial data preparation, reporting, forecasting, and reconciliation as needed.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and forecasting methods.
- Ability to perform quick and accurate calculations while maintaining a high level of precision.
- Strong professional communication skills, whether presenting in meetings, preparing reports, or collaborating with stakeholders.

Experience, Education, and Training
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field;
- One year of appropriate experience in accounting, procurement, or inventory management.
- Directly related work experience may be substituted for formal education on a year-for-year basis, but a minimum of 15 credit hours in accounting coursework from an accredited college is required.
- Experience in procurement and inventory control of goods within an industrial environment and/or government accounting.
- Must possess a valid Driver's License.
