The Purchasing Division represents the City of Springfield to many businesses and organizations on a local and national level. The departmental goal is to solicit the needed products or services at the lowest and best price deemed to be in the best interest of the City and offer fair bidding through the RFP, IFB, IFIB and RFQu processes.
Experience, Education and Training
- Graduation from an accredited college or university, with a Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Materials Management, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering or related field;
- At least one year of experience as a buyer of equipment, materials and supplies in the private or public sector;
- Responsible work experience in public or private sector purchasing may be substituted for formal education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary : $40,581 - $69,680
