NATURE OF WORK:
- Work on refuse/recycling routes which involves lifting, carrying, emptying and sorting of various materials (seasonal personnel are not allowed to drive refuse/recycling trucks)
- Clean, repair and set-up automated refuse and recycling carts
- Load and unload materials in warehouse
- Sweep and clean
- Wash trucks, equipment and carts
- Work on crews for community clean-ups and special events
- Monday through Friday, 6:30 am – 3:00 pm; and Saturdays following a major holiday
- 40 hours per week
- This position typically runs from February through July, with the possibility of extension.

- Must pass a physical exam (with drug test and demonstration of proper weightlifting up to 85 lbs.)
- Must provide your own adequate work gloves and hard soled over-ankle work boots to protect your hands and feet (steel-toed boots not required); the City of Spokane will provide a uniform, a safety vest, eye and hearing protection
- Must be able to pass a drug test.
