JOB SUMMARY
This position oversees vendor communication, weekly market operations, vendor recruitment, and on-site management to ensure a welcoming, organized, and successful community market experience.
MAJOR DUTIES
- Communicate with market vendors a minimum of twice per week regarding attendance, updates, requirements, and market information.
- Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and provide timely responses to questions and concerns.
- Track weekly vendor participation and collect necessary vendor documentation as needed.
- Assign vendor booth spaces weekly in a fair and organized manner.
- Create and distribute weekly market maps and vendor lists using Canva.
- Maintain accurate vendor records, attendance, and contact information.
- Assist with market promotions and vendor announcements as needed.
- Set up market equipment, signage, and vendor areas prior to opening each Sunday.
- Oversee daily market operations during market hours to ensure a safe, welcoming, and organized environment.
- Serve as the primary on-site contact for vendors, customers, and staff during operating hours.
- Address operational issues, customer concerns, or vendor needs in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with breakdown and cleanup following market closure.
- Recruit new vendors that align with the market’s mission and goals, including food vendors, artisans, farmers, and specialty businesses.
- Support efforts to maintain a diverse and engaging vendor mix throughout the season.
- Represent the market professionally within the community.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
- Knowledge of event coordination, farmers' markets, festivals, and vendor management.

SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
The Recreation Services Manager assigns work based on general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.
GUIDELINES
Guidelines include standard operating procedure, city policies and procedures, department guidelines, and relevant state and federal regulations. These guidelines require judgement, selection, and interpretation in application.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
- The work consists of various management and planning duties. Competing priorities and a wide range of responsibilities across unrelated areas contribute to the complexity of the position.
- The purpose of this position is to plan and manage all aspects of the seasonal market operations.

- Contacts are typically with department employees, vendors, and members of the general public.
- Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, and/or to motivate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The work is typically performed while standing and walking. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects (up to 50 pounds).
- The work is typically performed outdoors, in seasonal weather conditions.
SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY
This position has functional supervision over assigned personnel within an area, department, or unit. Functional supervision typically involves the ability to assign, coordinate, and review the quality and quantity of work of other employees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent; and
- 1 year of related experience required; or enrolled in a college program within a related field
- Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work.
- Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
- Must be able to work an 8-hour shift on Sundays.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and credit check.
Must have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Social media and marketing experience.
