Class Title

Maintains and repairs motorized equipment.

Duties

1. Maintains and repairs small complex to less complicated motorized equipment such as generators, pool pumps, tractors, weed-eaters, edgers, grass cutters, blowers, trimmers, walking and riding mowers.

2. Analyzes and determines cause of equipment malfunctions; receives work orders and select appropriate tools materials.

3. Test repairs to assure conformity to procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.

2. Must posses valid driver's license at time of employment.

3. Six (6) years of experience in small engine repair work or automotive repair work.

4. Ability to use independent judgment in planning sequence of operations in selecting proper tools and materials, ability to comprehend mechanical manuals and guideline.

5. Requires ability to apply shop mathematics to practical problems and manual hand finger dexterity; and eye hand foot coordination.

Physical Requirements:
1. Tasks involve sedentary to light work, involving some reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling of objects and material.
2. May involve moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and that may involve the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (12-50 pounds).
3. May require perception and discrimination of color, sound, odor as well as visual and the ability for effective communication.
4. Job must be performed with or without accommodations.

Work Environment:
1. Tasks may require exposure to extreme temperatures, strong odors, toxic/poisonous agents, smoke, dust, pollen, water, humidity, bright/dim lights, noise extreme,and machinery.

Travel:
Some travel will be required from location to location.
