What You'll Be Doing

Meter Services: Read, install, replace, and maintain residential and commercial water meters; perform daily and monthly disconnects and reconnects.

Field Operations: Conduct investigations for leaks, pressure issues, or consumption concerns; inspect meters and service connections for damage or tampering.

System Support: Flush dead-end fire hydrants, collect water samples, and monitor chlorine and monochloramine levels to maintain water quality standards.

Customer Interaction: Provide courteous on-site service, answer questions, and coordinate access for inspections or repairs; assist with billing inquiries.

Equipment and Data Management: Use handheld or AMI systems to record and upload readings; maintain electronic records and report issues or hazards to your supervisor.

Emergency Readiness: Be available for after-hours or on-call duty to assist with urgent repairs or disaster response.
What You Need to Succeed

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: One to two years of experience in meter reading, field service, or customer service preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

Valid Texas Driver's License.

TCEQ Class C Water Operator License required.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to operate field equipment and mobile data devices.

Physically able to lift 50 pounds, walk on varied terrain, and work in outdoor environments.

Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment
This is a hands-on, outdoor position that involves exposure to all weather conditions. You may encounter noise, dust, chemicals, and other environmental elements typical of utility operations. Personal protective equipment will be provided.
