City of Seabrook | Street Maintenance Worker I

The City of Seabrook is looking for a dependable Street Maintenance Worker I to join our Streets and Drainage team. This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance of streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems that residents rely on every day.

What You'll Do
- Operate equipment such as trucks, loaders, rollers, and other tools used in street and drainage maintenance
- Assist with construction and repair of streets, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters
- Install and maintain concrete, asphalt, signage, and pavement markings
- Perform right-of-way maintenance including mowing, trimming, and general upkeep
- Support drainage system work including pipe installation, ditch cleaning, and inspections
- Identify and address issues such as blockages, damage, or wear in public infrastructure
- Support the team with other duties as needed, including emergency response
This role supports the daily function and long-term reliability of the City's infrastructure.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience
- Valid Texas Class C driver's license (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to safely operate equipment and use hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn, follow direction, and work as part of a team
- Strong focus on safety and doing the job right
Work Environment
This is a field-based position with physical demands. You'll work primarily outdoors and may encounter:
- Heat, humidity, and changing weather conditions
- Exposure to noise, equipment, and job site hazards
- Work near traffic or active work zones
The role includes standing, lifting, bending, and working with tools and equipment throughout the day.

- Classified as Essential Personnel and must be available for emergency call-in during severe weather or disaster events
