Control Room Operator - Rover

Essential Job Functions

• Plans and writes up work orders; maintains database of work orders, including work performed, materials and equipment utilized, and completion dates.
• Coordinates and assigns work orders for repairs and preventive maintenance to technicians
• Inspects work in progress and upon completion to ensure adherence to prescribed work orders, project specifications, and safety standards; inspects work performed by contractors.
• Analyzes and troubleshoots complex electrical control devices; assists technicians in the field as needed and provides training and guidance in the more complex aspects of the work.
• Oversees and assists in installation, repair, and maintenance of electronic traffic control devices
• Oversees and assists in testing traffic signal controllers on a testing board
• Oversees and assists installation, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground steel messenger, fiber optic cable, closed loop controllers, etc.
• Coordinates with warehousing staff to ensure maintenance of adequate supplies, materials and equipment stock levels.
• Performs personnel management functions
• Performs other related duties as assigned
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; supplemented by five years progressively knowledgeable and skilled experience in state-of-the-art traffic control device installation, maintenance and repair; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class B
• IMSA (International Municipal Signals Association) Certification III preferred

Salary Grade: 56

Status: Exempt

Physical Requirements: Working in an outside environment, involving walking, standing, and bending and working in proximity to electrical currents and traffic. Duties require lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds and working out of a bucket truck (275 pound weight limit)
