The City of Sanibel, FL is seeking a Law Enforcement Associate to support our Police Department in various law enforcement activities. As a member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining public safety and order within the city.
Key Responsibilities
Under the general supervision of the Police Sergeant, the Law Enforcement Associate will perform a variety of tasks including traffic control, parking enforcement, and emergency management functions. The successful candidate will also be responsible for monitoring adherence to City watering restrictions and issuing notices as necessary. Additionally, they may be required to direct traffic at designated times and locations, set up and remove traffic barriers, and assist visitors and residents as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of experience reflecting the ability to accept responsibility. A valid Florida Driver's License is also required. Knowledge of traffic laws, City ordinances, and safety procedures related to traffic control and parking is essential. Additionally, the ability to work effectively with other employees and the general public is crucial.
