What are the responsibilities and job description for the Firefighter (Certified) position at City of Sanford, NC?

- Performs protective services in fire suppression including rescue, entry, ventilating, salvage work, and first response in emergency situations;
- Assists in maintaining fire apparatus and equipment;
- Cleans fire station and grounds;
- Inspects, cleans and maintains fire hose, pumps, hydrants and related equipment;
- Conducts station tours for the public;
- Presents programs to the community on safety and fire prevention topics;
- Participates in continuing training and instruction through individual study and scheduled classes;
- Performs other fire suppression and related emergency tasks consistent with appropriate department standard for position;
- Performs related tasks as required.

Qualifications
18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid NC driver's license, or ability to obtain by date of hire. Desired candidate must meet required physical agility test standard.
Special Requirements
NC Certified Firefighter NC or National Registry EMR/EMT
