Posted range is the starting salary. Pay rate offered is based on experience.
What You’ll Do
As a Youth Services Librarian, you’ll be a creative force behind children’s programming and a go-to resource for families. You’ll also use your customer service skills to engage and support kids of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging children’s programs, toddler story times, and special events that spark curiosity and joy.
- Provide high-level reference and reader’s advisory services to children, parents, and caregivers.
- Use technology to assist patrons with digital literacy, research, and computer troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain a portion of the youth collection, ensuring it reflects the needs and interests of our diverse community.
- Update and manage content for the library’s website and social media platforms.
- Serve as a liaison to schools, community groups, and other City departments—bringing the library beyond its walls.
- Conduct library tours and outreach visits to promote services and foster community connections.
- Support general library operations, opening/closing procedures, and training staff and volunteers.
What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited program.
- At least two (2) years of library experience required.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Comfort with technology and a willingness to learn new tools.
- Creativity, flexibility, and a sense of fun!
- Bilingual skills are beneficial.
