JOB SUMMARY
The Park Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily park operations at Old Mill Park during the summer season, with a primary focus on educating park users on applicable ordinances and promoting compliance through proactive engagement. This position supervises on-site staff, provides guidance to Park Attendants, and serves as the lead point of contact for visitors regarding park rules, policies, and expectations. The Park Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-managed environment by addressing concerns, supporting staff in high-traffic situations, and coordinating responses to issues as they arise. This position emphasizes customer service, communication, and situational awareness and does not perform law enforcement duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversees daily operations and staff assignments at Old Mill Park.
- Supervises and provides direction to Park Attendants.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for park visitors regarding park rules and ordinances.
- Proactively engages with visitors to communicate park policies in a clear, courteous, and professional manner.
- Monitors park activity to identify potential issues or rule violations.
- Responds to visitor concerns and complaints, escalating issues when appropriate.
- Supports staff in managing high-volume visitation periods.
- Coordinates with Departmental staff and, when necessary, public safety personnel.
- Maintains a visible and approachable presence throughout the park.
- Assists in de-escalating situations through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Ensures signage and public information materials are properly displayed and maintained.
- Maintains daily operational logs and incident documentation as required.
- Assists with setup and breakdown of operational materials as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; previous work experience in customer service-focused tasks preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is light work which requires the ability to exert light physical effort, with greater emphasis on standing and walking, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 25 pounds). Tasks also require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is regularly performed with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, or bright/dim lights.
