JOB SUMMARY
The Park Attendant supports daily operations at Old Mill Park during the summer season, with a primary role of educating visitors on park ordinances and encouraging compliance through positive, proactive engagement. This position greets park users, provides information about park rules and amenities, and helps maintain an orderly and welcoming environment. Working under the direction of the Park Supervisor, the Park Attendant serves as a visible presence in the park and a first point of contact for visitors. This position focuses on customer service, communication, and awareness and does not perform enforcement of park rules or ordinances.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Greets visitors in a courteous, professional, and welcoming manner.
- Communicates park rules, ordinances, and expectations clearly to park users.
- Maintains a visible presence throughout the park to promote awareness and compliance.
- Observes park activity and identifies potential issues or concerns.
- Engages with visitors to encourage appropriate use of park facilities.
- Reports concerns, incidents, or potential violations to the Park Supervisor.
- Assists in de-escalating minor conflicts through effective communication.
- Provides general information about park amenities, features, and hours of operation.
- Supports a clean, safe, and orderly park environment.
- Assists with placement and maintenance of signage and informational materials.
- Documents visitor interactions or issues as directed.
- Assists with daily setup and breakdown of operational materials as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; previous work experience in customer service-focused tasks preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job. Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

- Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; the ability to calculate decimals and percentages; the ability to utilize principles of fractions; and the ability to interpret graphs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is light work which requires the ability to exert light physical effort, with greater emphasis on standing and walking, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 25 pounds). Tasks also require the ability to perceive and discriminate colors or shades of colors, sounds, depth, texture, and visual cues or signals. Some tasks require the ability to communicate orally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is regularly performed with exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, wetness, humidity, rain, fumes, temperature and noise extremes, or bright/dim lights.
