The City of Richmond Department of Public Works is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position of Maintenance and Operations Crew Chief in the Roadway Maintenance Division. The incumbent is responsible for providing oversight of maintenance operations related to planning and implementing grounds maintenance projects.
Duties include but are not limited to
- Planning, supervising, and directing the maintenance, repair, and streets, sidewalks, and facilities for a variety of assigned areas
- Providing oversight of removal of snow and ice from sidewalks and parking areas
- Inspecting the work of assigned crew members, providing technical guidance, inspecting completed projects, and submit reports of work completed
- Supervising assigned staff, scheduling staff assignments and projects, determining work performance standards, conducting performance evaluations, and providing direction to staff
- Providing oversight of vehicle and equipment maintenance
- Coordinating assigned functions with other divisions and departments
- Recommending project priorities and work methods, requisition of required materials, equipment, and supplies required for completion of projects
- Interacting with the public to resolve concerns, answer questions, and provide information regarding grounds maintenance activities
- Performing other related duties as assigned
