What are the responsibilities and job description for the Farmers Market Cashier position at City of Richfield, MN?
7.5 - 10 weekend hours: Saturday.
Scheduled dates: Saturdays, May through October, 2025
Additional hours may be available during the Winter Farmer's Market season
This is a seasonal position and is therefore temporary in nature. Position ends at the end of the season.
- Assists with farmers market event setup, including setup of the farmers market information booth
- Assists vendors to find their stall location
- Provides friendly service and information to vendors and market customers
- Assists with tracking farmers market attendance and contributes information to the daily market report
- Assists with enforcement of market policies as needed
- Assists with volunteer supervision and direction as needed
- Assists in the preparation and implementation of special events
- Cares for and maintains equipment, materials and facilities.
- Performs light maintenance duties as assigned, including but not limited to cleaning picnic tables, bagging organics recycling, and picking up litter around the buildings or grounds.
- Participates in efforts to ensure Richfield is an equitable, inclusive and respectful organization and supports the City’s mission, vision and core values.
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Speaks Spanish, Somali or American Sign Language (ASL) at a conversational level.

Must have the ability to:
Maintain moderate outdoor physical activity such as standing, walking, sitting, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, squatting
Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
Speak, hear and see in order to share information and receive instructions
Occasionally lift and/or move materials and supplies from 20-30 lbs
Salary : $17 - $19
