HOURS
The pool will be open June 12 – August 30, 2026. Work hours will vary based on operational needs and staffing levels, with shifts scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends. This position is seasonal and temporary in nature.
Overtime is paid for hours worked in excess of 48 hours per workweek.
NATURE OF WORK
Under the general supervision of the Facility Manager and reporting directly to the Pool Supervisor, this position provides lead oversight of concession and admissions operations at the Outdoor Pool. The Pool Lead Cashier is responsible for supervising cashier and concession staff, overseeing daily cash handling and inventory control, and ensuring concession operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with City policies and health regulations. This position serves as a resource to staff, supports daily pool operations, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patrons.
HIRING INCENTIVE
A $100 end-of-season retention incentive will be awarded to employees who remain employed through the end of the season, work a minimum of 120 hours, and maintain satisfactory performance and attendance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Provide day-to-day lead oversight of cashier and concession staff, including training, guidance, and work direction.
- Maintain concession food preparation and service areas in a clean and orderly manner in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in a sanitary manner and ensure proper food handling procedures are followed.
- Oversee daily concession operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Prepare and verify beginning and ending daily inventory of concession items.
- Balance daily cash receipts and ensure register totals match product sales; identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Secure and deliver daily cash receipts and deposits in accordance with City procedures.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels of food, beverages, and supplies; notify supervisory staff of purchasing needs.
- Assist with year-end inventory of concession equipment, supplies, and goods.
- Monitor patron behavior within assigned areas and report unsafe or unacceptable behavior to lifeguard or supervisory staff.
- Perform routine custodial duties to maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility, including concession, lobby, and deck support areas.
- Make recommendations to supervisory staff for improved concession operations and customer service.
- Accurately complete required reports and records.
- Attend required orientation, training, staff, and planning meetings.
- Work scheduled shifts and report to work on time and prepared.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least 16 years of age by the hire date.
- Must have a minimum of two seasons of relevant experience in a pool, concession, or customer service setting.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Customer service experience in a public-facing role.
- Cashier, money-handling, or food preparation experience.
- Experience working in a public recreation or aquatic facility.
- Experience providing lead or supervisory support to staff.
- Fluency in Spanish, Somali, Vietnamese, or other non-English languages commonly spoken in the City of Richfield.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is primarily performed within a public swimming pool environment. Requires the ability to work in the heat and sun. Essential functions require maintaining the physical condition necessary for considerable physical activity.

Must have the ability to:
- Stand, walk, kneel, sit, crouch, twist, push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, and lift materials and supplies ranging from 20–60 lbs. Must also possess the mobility to work in a concession stand.
- Vision and hearing sufficient to see and hear adults and children in crowded and noisy conditions, and hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person or by telephone.
- Finger dexterity to enter data using a cash register.
