What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscaper position at City of Republic?
- Works as a member of a crew to perform the general beautification, cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance of city parks, greenway areas, city owned landscaped areas, and the grounds surrounding municipal buildings inclusive of trimming, tree care, landscaping, trash removal, cleaning, etc.
- Assists Parks and Recreation Department during times of special events.
- Operates maintenance equipment in a manner consistent with safety principles.
- Maintains weed and trash free landscape beds.
- Deals effectively and courteously with fellow employees and the general public.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintains appropriate supplies for assigned areas.
- Maintains neat and orderly work area.
Education and Experience
- Basic knowledge of landscaping preferred.

Special Requirements
- Must currently be at least 16 years of age.
Miscellaneous Requirements
- May be required to work a variety of shifts including weekends, or holidays.
- Must be a dependable person due to the small size of the work force.
- May be subject to random substance abuse testing.
Performs bending, squatting, crawling, twisting, kneeling and reaching to ground level and overhead; Must be able to reach, grip and hold; Must be able to lift 40 pounds above their head; Must be able to push, pull and carry 60 pounds; Must have the ability to operate a computer keyboard and mouse.
