The City of Raleigh is seeking a Programming and Events Analyst for Dix Park. This individual will be a key member of the Program and Events Team. This role will be responsible for event planning, program development, and staff management. Key responsibilities include overseeing event and program management, collaborating with stakeholders to plan and execute events, supervising staff, delivering outstanding customer service to both internal and external user groups, managing budgets, coordinating the planning and execution of programs and events, and ensuring compliance with safety and risk management policies and procedures.

- Develops, markets, schedules, implements, conducts, and coordinates programs, and special events at Dix Park. Modifies classes and workshops to accommodate individuals with a variety of disabilities.
- Oversees administrative functions including attendance, registration, facility rental, and programming evaluation
- Oversees daily operations of designated programs, events, and operations; orchestrates scheduling, planning and coordination of activities, transportation, and associated resources
- Maintains vigilance over safety and risk management protocols, and as assigned; assumes the role of onsite supervisor in their absence
- Provides fiscal management to include budgeting, banking, purchasing, payroll, and reporting
- Ensures excellent customer service and satisfaction by addressing concerns/complaints; soliciting community input to develop programming opportunities; evaluating patron satisfaction through survey review; assisting in registration; providing recommendations of services and programs based on the needs of the patron; creating opportunities that support community needs and help overcome barriers; and offering diverse service-based opportunities
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Leisure Activities, Physical Education, Sports/Athletics, Therapeutic Recreation or related field; 1 to 3 years’ experience in recreation program/activity and/or special event implementation, marketing, coordinating, or related workOR
Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted
Licensing and Certifications:
- Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
- American Red Cross Lifeguarding
- Certified therapeutic recreation specialist, and licensed recreational therapist
- First Aid
- AED and CPR for the Professional Rescuer
- American Red Cross Water Safety Certification

Work Environment and Physical Effort:

Work is typically performed in an office or similar indoor setting. Employees may occasionally work in an outdoor environment or in a vehicle.
