Job Summary:


Now is your chance to have the job you always wanted - being a part of a team in Maine's largest skilled nursing facility and making a difference in the lives of the residents of the Barron Center. The Laundry Operator plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, comfort, and daily operations of the facility. This position is responsible for managing the full cycle of laundry services, which includes safely operating commercial washers and dryers, accurately sorting and folding linens, and ensuring clean supplies are efficiently distributed throughout the building.


Additionally, the Laundry Operator provides a high level of personalized service by processing, hanging, and delivering personal clothing directly to residents. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and dedicated to handling both facility linens and residents' personal items with care, respect, and efficiency.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Distributing clean linen within the facility
  • Loading and unloading commercial washers and dryers
  • Folding and sorting linen
  • Hanging and delivering personal laundry to residents


Required Skills & Experience:

  • Excellent customer service skills are required
  • Must be able to lift objects weighing over 50 pounds for an extended period of time
  • Ability to work in extreme temperature conditions
  • Must possess a valid Maine Class C driver’s license


Expected Hours/Schedule:


This is a full time 37.5 hour per week position, Thursday - Monday, on day shift.

Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check and a pre-employment physical.

Salary & Benefits:

This is a union position, CEBA Grade 5, with a starting pay range of $19.92-$21.85 per hour, based on relevant years of experience.
