Rate And Compensation
The successful candidate may be offered a position in either the Public Works Crew Leader I, Public Works Crew Leader II or Senior Public Works Crew Leader classification.
The hourly rate for the Public Works Crew Leader I is $25.21 - $31.51 per hour
The hourly rate for the Public Works Crew Leader II is $26.47 - $33.09 per hour
The hourly rate for the Senior Public Works Crew Leader is $29.18 - $36.48 per hour

Are You Ready To Put Your Experience To Work While Leading a Skilled Team That Keeps Plano’s Essential Water And Sewer Systems Operating At Their Best? The City Of Plano Is Seeking An Experienced, Dependable, And Motivated Public Works Crew Leader To Join Our Team Of Well-trained Professionals. In This Hands-on Leadership Role, You’ll Work Alongside Your Crew To Coordinate Daily Activities, Provide Guidance And Direction, And Ensure Work Is Completed Safely And Efficiently. This Position Involves Moderate Physical Labor Outdoors In All Types Of Weather And Is Ideal For Someone Who Takes Pride In Their Work, Enjoys Leading And Developing Others, And Wants To Make a Direct Impact On The Essential Services Our Community Relies On Every Day. An Average Workday May Include Some Of The Following Activities:
Public Works Vision and Core Values: Team members take pride in their work and feel a sense of ownership in our Public Works department. They are well-trained, competent, able to accomplish all aspects of their job – and prepared to move into the next role. Our Public Works Core Values are Respect, Teamwork, Trust, Safety, and Communication.
Additional Information
Enjoy a four-day workweek, Tuesday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., giving you a three-day weekend most weeks! Learn alongside our experienced team members while building your skills and working toward becoming a TCEQ-licensed water and/or wastewater operator, with additional certification and professional development opportunities available. For trained employees interested in earning additional income, abundant overtime opportunities are also available outside of regular work hours.
