- WORK EXPERIENCE: The application must clearly show six (6) years of full-time experience in park maintenance, or construction, and at least two (2) years in a supervisory or training capacity. (Less than full-time experience will be calculated on a pro-rated basis.)
- EDUCATION/TRAINING: The application must clearly show a high school diploma or general equivalency.
- EQUIVALENCY: None permitted for this position. Therefore, no education/training and/or work experience may be substituted toward the qualifying requirements listed above.

- Develops, designs, and implements safety policies, standard operating procedures and training programs for Bureau of Operations Park Maintenance that align with the department’s goals and optimize efficiency.
- Trains department employees utilizing best management practices in areas of park maintenance and related craft work and stay current with industry standards, new technologies, and workforce development trends.
- Provides ongoing development opportunities for existing staff, including cross-training and upskilling.
- Identifies training needs in collaboration with supervisors and leadership.
- Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, testing, and performance improvement metrics.
- Evaluates the current skills and knowledge of employees and collaborates to identify the high standard of skills desired.
- Maintains accurate records of training initiatives and employee participation.
- Collaborates with external training programs and other City departments.
- Performs such other related tasks and duties that are assigned or required.
