The City's Finance Department is seeking to fill an Accountant I position in the Citywide Accounts Receivable section of the Revenue and Risk Management Division. This section provides a variety of accounting services that facilitate the collection of monies owed to the City by its customers or residents for goods, services, taxes, fees, damages, or other debt owed to the City.
The Accountant I will be responsible for performing entry-level professional accounting activities. Duties include:

Pay Range: $26.18 to $40.61 per hour.
Hiring Range: $26.18 to $35.08 per hour.

The Accountant I will be responsible for performing entry-level professional accounting activities. Duties include:
- Processing Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) transactions.
- Assisting departments with SAP A/R customer account reconciliation issues.
- Evaluating financial workflow processes and accounting problems to develop effective solutions.
- Developing specific accounting procedures, along with the corresponding training, to ensure adherence to internal controls, and conformance to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and standards.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Familiarity with accounting transactions rules, regulations and internal controls.
- Ability to manage data using programs such as Microsoft Access and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize at short notice, and process documents timely and efficiently.
- Ability to collect and analyze financial data such as source documents used for accounting records of initial entry, control accounts, and financial reports.
Pay Range: $26.18 to $40.61 per hour.
Hiring Range: $26.18 to $35.08 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; or
- Four years of paraprofessional accounting and/or payroll experience.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
