- Assigning and Supervising Maintenance Crews and Contractors: They are tasked with assigning and supervising both in-house maintenance crews and external contractors engaged in the upkeep of City-maintained streets, sidewalks, signs, and signals.
- Installation Oversight: This role involves coordination and assistance of the installation of new traffic signals, as well as overseeing installation and maintenance of signs, in addition to managing street and sidewalk repair initiatives. Collaboration with engineers and electricians may be necessary to ensure proper installation and functioning.
- Training and Guidance: The individual is responsible for providing comprehensive training and guidance to crew members, with a specific focus on safety protocols and correct maintenance techniques.
- Regular Inspections: Conducting routine inspections is a key responsibility to proactively identify issues with traffic signals, signs, streets, and sidewalks.
- Documentation Management: They maintain meticulous records of maintenance and repair activities, work orders, and equipment replacements. This includes reporting on the overall condition of all projects, equipment, and personnel under their supervision.
- Budget Contribution: They play a pivotal role in the budgeting process by providing valuable input regarding the required materials, equipment, and personnel needed for the continuous maintenance and enhancement of traffic signals and signs, as well as street and sidewalk infrastructure.
- Remains accessible via personal cell phone to address job-related issues or emergencies using City applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Formal Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Relatable Work Experience: Two (2) years of experience in strategic planning work. Six (6) months of experience in a supervisory role. Valid Texas driver’s license.
Training, Licenses, or Certifications: Class A CDL.
