Pay Range: $48,921.60-$56,872.40 annually, depending on knowledge and experience.
***This position is in the Stormwater Division***
*** A Class A CDL is required***
Minimum Preparation for Work:
- Sufficient education to read and understand technical instructions and to prepare reports; and
- Five (5) years of experience in pertinent area.
- Combination of education, training, and/or work experience equal to or higher than the requirements listed above as determined by Human Resources.
Necessary Special Requirements:
- Possession of an appropriate driver license for equipment operated and any license, training or certification required by law or regulation to complete assigned tasks.
Nature of Work:
This is minor supervisory work in directing the activities of manual semi-skilled laborers.
An employee in this class is a working supervisor assisting the foreperson of large groups of employees or serving as crew chief in charge of a small number of employees.
Examples of Work:
- May assist the foreperson in supervising the execution and completion of various work projects.
- Give subordinates instruction and advice on difficult problems and may personally operate required equipment.
- Serves as working supervisor of a number of employees engaged in various work areas.
- Keeps operating records and makes reports.
- Plans and directs work projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of safety precautions and work methods.
- Considerable knowledge of pertinent methods, materials, supplies, tools, and practices.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and effectively carry out complete written or oral instructions accompanied by construction plans.
- Ability to keep operating records and prepare reports.
- Ability to supervise the work of others.
- Ability to perform work out-of-doors, occasionally under adverse weather conditions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public.
- Skilled in the care and use of pertinent tools, equipment, and facilities.
