JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this class within the organization is to enforce rules and regulations, to provide the safety and welfare to patrons.
This class works under close supervision according to set procedures
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Regular and timely attendance at work, as scheduled.
Lifeguards pools; enforces rules and regulations; provides safety and welfare to patrons.
Serves as lifeguard and monitors the safety of aquatic facility patrons; participates in enforcing safety policies and procedures; initiates rescues, administers First Aid and/or CPR.
Provides exemplary customer service to all facility users including, but not limited to, members, class members, facility rentals and school district and club athletes and coaches.
Perform daily maintenance functions of cleaning deck, restrooms, grounds, and building, etc. Immediately report unsafe equipment, facility, chemical, etc. issues to management.
Checks and logs pool chemicals every two hours to ensure pools are safe for swimming.
Insert and remove lane lines as needed. Ensures lanes are marked for current reservations throughout the day.
Checks all areas of natatorium facility to ensure safety of patrons. Immediately reports unsafe equipment, facility, chemical, etc. issues to management.
Performs opening and or closing procedures as directed.
Sets up and converts pools and facility for competitions and other reservations.
Additional Duties:
Attends bi-weekly in-services to practice skills and maintain certifications.
Provides excellent customer service when patrons ask questions or have concerns.
Performs related work as assigned.
Works days, evenings and weekends as required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Entry level education for this position does not require completion of high school.
Minimum age for consideration is 16 years of age.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License (or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire)
Salary : $14 - $15
