- Provide executive-level support including confidential scheduling, briefings, and departmental coordination.
- Lead and supervise Fire Department administrative support staff, including evaluations, coaching, and hiring recommendations.
- Manage department-wide initiatives and ensure alignment with Fire Department strategic objectives.
- Coordinate development of the operating and capital budgets; oversee financial workflows and invoicing.
- Prepare documentation and logistics for disciplinary, fact-finding, and grievance processes with Human Resources.
- Develop high-level presentations and reports for City leadership, Council, and external stakeholders.
- Compile and analyze Fire and EMS data to support operational decision-making.
- Advise the Fire Chief on confidential labor relations, contract administration, and workplace issues.
- Manage interdepartmental and special projects ensuring timelines, stakeholder coordination, and deliverables.
- Support meeting coordination, accreditation readiness, regulatory reporting, and executive staff scheduling.
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field; AND
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, executive support, or analyst experience, including at least two (2) years supporting department leadership in government or public safety.
- Experience supporting a fire or emergency services agency.
- Experience in a Washington municipal environment.
