What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician - Parks & Grounds - Regular Part-Time position at City of Palm Beach Gardens?

This position performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in Parks & Grounds maintenance. Position also operates a variety of equipment.

***This position may include nights and weekends, shifts and schedules will vary. Hours will not exceed 28 per week. ***

Performs skilled maintenance on city grounds, athletic fields, medians, and rights-of-way related to pruning, relocation and removal of trees
Performs general maintenance on department equipment, such as lawn and power equipment, located throughout the City's parks, grounds and athletic fields
Operates tractors, mowers, jack hammers, welders, trucks, steam cleaners, buffers, washers, and other equipment, as needed
Assists with the preparation of facilities for all related recreation activities, special events, and tournaments
Maintains detailed records and reports regarding the status of a variety of parks related systems, repairs made and related expenses
Participates in the maintenance of athletic fields, landscape areas, playgrounds, and irrigation systems
Maintains and adjusts specialized Parks equipment and tools, including chain saws, pole saws, tractors, mowers, carts, sprayers, chippers and stump grinders
Assists with the operation lighting systems on designated athletic fields, basketball, and tennis courts lighting systems
Operates a variety of hand, electric and air driven tools
Assists in the training of part-time employees or community service workers
Document work in approved work order software; log hours in daily work orders and special projects
Performs duties as assigned during emergency response conditions
Performs any other related duties as required or assigned
