What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2026 Parks Maintenance Specialist I - Seasonal position at City of Oregon City?

This is a non-union position with no benefits.
$21.00 per hour for new hires
$22.00 per hour for returning seasonal employees
$24.00 per hour for those that hold a valid CDL
Temporary/Seasonal positions can last up to 6 months. Work hours vary and may include weekends.

Duties will include the successful candidate to be able to perform a variety of skilled and general labor tasks in connection with field mowing, detention facility maintenance, roadside vegetation control, grounds maintenance, pressure washing, truck driving and limited equipment operation. Also performs a variety of work involving grounds and landscape maintenance of public access grounds, gardens and sports/play fields.
Requires employees to maintain safe working environments, communicate courteously and cooperatively with other staff and the general public and work with a team or individual situation with minimum supervision. Must have a clean driving record.
Process will consist of screening applicants based on experience and training. The most qualified applicants will be invited to an oral interview. Employment is contingent upon passing a background check.
