The job duties of a of Firefighter are highly demanding and require the candidate to remain up to date on their knowledge, skills, and abilities as they related to the fields of fire prevention and emergency medicine. Candidates in this position can expect a daily schedule consisting of responding to emergency situations and calls related to fire prevention or containment and emergency medical response, training to ensure service provided is following the latest procedures and guidelines are being followed, and equipment check to ensure every apparatus is ready to go at a moments notice. The Orange City Fire Department covers incorporated and unincorporated Orange City, as well as the City of DeBary, operating out of 4 Fire Stations. Starting Salary
$49,168.01 $11,000 Paramedic Incentive Pay*
Individuals selected for employment must first pass a background and driving history check before commencing work with the City of Orange City.

Starting Salary
$49,168.01 $11,000 Paramedic Incentive Pay*
- Based on 2912 annual hours worked
- Possession of a High School diploma or equivalency diploma
- Florida state minimum standards certification as a Firefighter
- Possession of a valid Florida Driver License
- Certification as a Florida Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Paramedic Preferred*
