We have a seasonal opportunity that offers just that option - we are looking for a mature and patient individual to assist the City with identifying and ensuring compliance with the City's weeds and long grass ordinances. Working in our Community Development department, this position will partner closely with our code enforcement officer and building inspector on a seasonal, part-time basis. The successful candidate must be able to effectively work independently, communicate clearly and tactfully, and have a valid driver's license with Minnesota driving privileges.The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Work collaboratively with other staff to provide excellent and responsive public service
  • Respond to complaints regarding weed and long grass, including verifying compliance, issuing violation notices, and performing compliance inspections
  • Assist staff with other code compliance responsibilities
  • Regular and reliable attendance during scheduled hours
  • Perform responsibilities with tact, diplomacy, and discretion
  • Represent the city in a courteous, responsive, and professional manner in all interactions
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Able to communicate tactfully and professionally to a variety of stakeholders and interested parties
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Perform other duties as assigned

RESPONSIBILITY
