JOB The Recreation Attendant provides front-line support at the Recreation Center by assisting with the planning, organization, and supervision of indoor and outdoor recreational activities, while delivering excellent customer service to facility visitors and program participants. This position performs routine duties in accordance with established guidelines and instructions, requiring limited independent judgment. Work is reviewed by a supervisor. Recreation Attendants have frequent contact with the public, both in person and by telephone, to provide information regarding programs and activities, process City passes, and enforce applicable rules and regulations.

General Duties:
- Answers telephone inquiries regarding Recreation Center programs, schedules, and facility information; directs callers to appropriate staff as needed.
- Greets and checks in visitors upon arrival at the Recreation Center; verifies memberships and facility passes, issues guest passes, and ensures all entrants are properly registered.
- Assists community members with purchasing, renewing, and managing Recreation Center passes; processes payments and provides receipts.
- Monitors the facility calendar for scheduled classes, room rentals, and space users; coordinates with staff to ensure spaces are prepared and reservations are honored.
- Monitors users in the general building and associated grounds areas to ensure compliance with rules and regulations; opens and closes facility under direct supervision.
- Support center staff in the day-to-day supervision of the facility, ensuring a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for all
- Assists in conducting organized youth and adult recreational activities and sports programs; monitors free play.
- Registers program participants, collects fees, and issues receipts; maintains accurate records of facility activities and attendance.
- Performs related custodial duties and general clerical duties as needed.
- Prepares bulletin boards, brochures, and other public information materials.
- Performs other related duties of a comparable level or type as assigned.

- Required to work evenings, weekends, irregular hours, and split shifts.
- Normally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- First Aid Card and CPR certification required within 30 calendar days of hire
