What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach Coordinator position at City of Northglenn, CO?
The City is seeking an energetic, positive and engaging person to serve as a Community Outreach Coordinator. This position is liaison to a variety of community organizations and with city staff to help build and sustain partnerships that provide beneficial services to residents. Responsibilities include management, recruitment, placement, support and recognition of volunteers and interns in a variety of programs that enhance and support the mission and goals of the City of Northglenn. This role supports staff and residents in problem-solving and resolution for outreach-related issues. The position requires excellence in customer service and the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
The position reports to the Director of Communications.
Oversee and support individual and group (small and large) volunteer programs and projects including Partners with Parks and Snow Stormers. Coordinate citywide annual volunteer recognition efforts. Coordinate community service hours for adults.
Coordinate additional City Council-initiated programs, including: Adams County Mayors and Commissioners Youth Awards; Neighborhood Beautification and Magnificent Tree recognitions; Holiday Food/Toy Drive; Memorial Bench & Tree program; and the Northglenn Bike Program (bicycle donation, repair and distribution).
Coordinates citywide interaction with faith-based groups, youth groups, non-profits and schools throughout the community.
Support up to 10 city events annually that occur outside of normal office hours.
Serve on internal committees, which will include projects such as bike rodeos, health/wellness events and employee activities.
Assist the communications department with city events, meetings and projects as needed.

Five years of extensive public contact work (volunteer management preferred) or a four-year degree in non-profit management, human services, public administration, business administration or education with at least 3 years public-facing work experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Comfortable with public speaking and presentations, including at events and meetings that include elected officials.
Ability to initiate and sustain relationships with staff, residents and partners in the community. Participation in a strong team culture. The position requires autonomous work as well as contributions to shared outcomes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enthusiasm, creative thinking, ability to exercise independent judgment, and a commitment to customer service excellence. An ability to work with diverse populations.
Familiar with volunteer training.
Prior experience with Microsoft software desirable. Ability to learn new applications.
Knowledge of municipal government a plus.
Selected candidate must pass a background, drug screen and physical.
Hiring Range DOQ: $58,462 - $70,000
Full Range: $58,462 - $81,846

Regular Full-Time
Employee works in a position that is classified as 40 hours per week. Eligible for full benefit package including medical, dental, life and LTD insurance; pension and general leave and optional benefits.
Regular Part-Time 30
Employee works in a position that is classified as 30 hours per week. City pays contribution toward employee only medical and dental insurance. Employee can pay the difference to cover spouse and/or children. Life & LTD insurance coverage is provided. Employee participates in the City's pension plan and the City contributes to the plan. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and optional benefits.
Regular Part-Time 20
Employee works in a position that is classified as 20 hours per week but less than 30 hours. City pays contribution toward employee only medical insurance. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and the City pays 3.75% toward deferred compensation and optional benefits.
Regular Part-Time

Employee works is a position that is classified as less than 20 hours per week. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and the City pays 3.75% toward deferred compensation.
Part-Time (No Benefits)
