The Asset Management Administrator is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and optimization of the utility’s asset management program, with a strong focus on digital transformation, infrastructure sustainability, and operational efficiency. This role bridges technical analysis, cross-departmental coordination, and system-level planning to improve how utility assets are tracked, maintained, and planned over their lifecycle.

The incumbent supports capital improvement planning, work order automation, and long-range infrastructure forecasting by managing asset data systems and integrating data visualization tools. Responsibilities include the development of internal tools and dashboards, training staff across departments, and ensuring consistent practices in asset tracking and reporting. The position also supports the review of utility designs and plans, coordination with consultants and contractors, permitting processes, and preparation of technical documentation related to capital projects and regulatory compliance.

Additionally, this role contributes to the development of AI-enabled solutions and smart utility initiatives to enhance decision-making, optimize asset performance, and support future-ready infrastructure planning.

The role works under limited supervision and exercises considerable independent judgment in recommending process improvements, leading system implementations, and advancing utility-wide digital initiatives.•Administers and maintains utility asset data systems, supporting the integrity of digital workflows and asset inventory records. Develops and delivers training across departments to ensure consistency in data collection, asset tracking, and software usage.
•Leads the creation of dashboards, metrics, and reports using data visualization tools to support internal performance reviews, KPI monitoring, and grant compliance.
•Collaborates with engineering and operations to improve capital project tracking, asset condition assessments, and lifecycle modeling.
•Designs and develops new internal tools and applications for tracking work orders, scheduling maintenance, and enhancing reporting.
•Supports capital project coordination by reviewing scopes, preparing procurement documentation, and assisting in design and permitting processes.
•Reviews engineering plans and system maps for utility infrastructure, ensuring compatibility with asset records and GIS datasets.
•Coordinates with IT and system vendors to manage software integrations, updates, and cybersecurity protocols.
•Assists with the integration of SCADA system data into asset management platforms for improved real-time performance tracking and maintenance planning.
•Contributes to the development of Al-enabled solutions, smart utility initiatives, and long-term infrastructure planning tools. Attends internal and external meetings to represent asset management priorities and align system data with department goals.
•Performs other related duties as required.•Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
•Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in asset management, data systems, utility operations, or related technical functions.
•Familiarity with asset lifecycle planning, capital project tracking, and performance-based maintenance strategies. Experience
•using data visualization, reporting, or workflow management software such as Cityworks, ArcGIS, Power Bl, Smartsheet, or similar systems.
•Familiarity with SCADA systems and their integration into utility operations and asset management platforms.
•Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
•Valid Florida driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

•Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
•Experience supporting asset management programs in a water/wastewater utility environment.
•Familiarity with Al applications, smart utility initiatives, or digital twin technologies.
•Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices related to infrastructure data and cloud-based platforms.
•Certifications in asset management, project management, or data analytics.Must establish and maintain effective communications and working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, division and department heads, public/private sector contacts, and City contractors. 
Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations. 
Other highly desirable knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials relevant to a position. 
Knowledge in the development, organization and administration of capital projects. 
Ability to apply independent judgment in difficult situations. 
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and use good judgment in prioritizing work assignments, including the ability to ensure accurate and efficient completion of assignments. 
Ability to communicate effectively, tactfully with the public and other staff members. 
Ability to apply attention to detail in reviewing and preparing necessary reports and plans. 
Ability to organize, prepare, process and maintain the required reports, records, documents and related information. 
Must communicate effectively orally, in writing and electronically. Bilingual communication skills a plus. 
Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a five pounds of force constantly to move objects. Work involves working outdoors in inclement weather conditions. Work involves sitting and standing for long periods of time. Work involves frequent typing, walking and occasional bending, lifting and stooping for short periods of time. Must be able to lift and/ or carry weights of up to 10 pounds. 
Must possess visual acuity including color and depth perception and must be able to hear nature sounds at normal speaking levels.

Salary : $93,612 - $140,418
