**Must be a resident of Niagara Falls, NY within 6 months of appointment**
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This is difficult and responsible equipment operating performed within the limits of detailed instructions. Employees are responsible for exercising more than ordinary caution so as to protect the life and property of others and for the care of the equipment assigned to him. Under general supervision, operates heavy construction equipment; does related work as required.
Typical Work Activities
Steer with milling attachments when used in street construction;
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND
Good knowledge of the operation and servicing of very heavy equipment such as roller, bulldozer, power grader, steam or gas driven roller, power shovel, crane, grader;
Graduation from high school and one (1) year of experience in the operation of the equipment to which he is assigned; or any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training sufficient to indicate ability to do the work.
Special Requirements
Possession of a valid Class B Drivers License at time of appointment and maintained for duration of employment. If there is an existing permit, employee must attain license within 6 months of the employment.

- Notifies supervision of the need for repairs to equipment;
- Adheres to grade lines as required.
FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND
Good knowledge of the operation and servicing of very heavy equipment such as roller, bulldozer, power grader, steam or gas driven roller, power shovel, crane, grader;
- Skill in making mechanical repairs;
- Mechanical aptitude;
- Mental alertness;
- Good observation;
- Good physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
Graduation from high school and one (1) year of experience in the operation of the equipment to which he is assigned; or any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training sufficient to indicate ability to do the work.
