As a part-time Sports Recreation Leader, you'll be right in the middle of the action, helping run after-school sports leagues, E-Sports, camps, and summer trips. One day you might be coaching a youth basketball game, the next you’re helping organize a Rocket League tournament or setting up for a dodgeball night.
You’ll play a key role in keeping events smooth, fun, and safe. If you like being active, enjoy working with people, and want to build leadership skills in a fast-paced environment, this job is for you.
Your Day-to-Day Could Include:- Supporting leagues, games, tournaments, and recreation events
- Coaching, scorekeeping, refereeing, and helping with E-Sports
- Setting up and taking down sports or event equipment
- Leading youth during summer trips and seasonal camps
- Keeping things running safely and on schedule
- Communicating with players, parents, and spectators
- Helping guide volunteers and younger participants
- Promoting upcoming events and programs
- Creating a fun, fair, and respectful atmosphere

Experience & Background:
High school diploma or equivalent (or working toward it)
Experience in sports, camps, coaching, or events is helpful but not required
Bonus if you’ve officiated, coached, or participated in E-Sports

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility, including the ability to frequently lift or move materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift or move materials up to 100 pounds. The position requires the ability to operate a motorized vehicle. Manual dexterity and coordination are required approximately 35% of the work period to operate such equipment as computers, keyboards, telephones, and standard office equipment. The position requires the mobility to interact with and use parks and recreation equipment. The ability to lift, carry, and manage equipment and supplies, and participate in and train others in the rules of sport. The individual may be required to work odd or long hours at a time to complete special requests or projects, or to participate in or coordinate evening activities. The Recreation Leader may be participating in and leading strenuous physical activities, both indoors and out. A varied schedule is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work location is both indoors and outdoors where most work occurs in a recreational/gymnasium or park setting. The Recreation Leader is expected to oversee and monitor recreational, leisure, and sporting events in all weather conditions.
