The City of Newark is seeking a candidate for an Automated Traffic
Enforcement Technician. This\
highly technical position will serve as a civilian enforcement
specialist responsible for the review,\
processing, and adjudication support of violations generated through the
City s Electronic Speed\
Safety Program and the Delaware Department of Transportation Red Light
Camera Program within\
city limits. Position will have a flexible schedule, working up to 25
hours per week Monday through\
Friday; has a starting hourly rate of \$27.18; and offers paid vacation
and holidays, and earned sick time.\
Position requires a high level of accuracy, independent judgement, and
professionalism in both\
administrative and quasi-enforcement functions. Incumbents are expected
to perform work in a\
combination of remote and in-person settings with limited supervision.
Candidates must be\
knowledgeable with Delaware traffic laws, citation procedures, and
enforcement practices. Ideal\
candidates should understand the operation of standard office equipment
and software including\
familiarity with Microsoft Office, possess strong organizational skills,
have an excellent work record, and\
be able to work and communicate effectively. Applicants should have at
least 10 years of law\
experience and must submit to a complete, comprehensive background
investigation and be able to\
maintain certifications with NCIC and DELJIS.\
