Responsibilities
The Deputy Commissioner, Public Information is seeking a Deputy Director of Digital whose responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to, the following:
- Direct the development and execution of creative, sophisticated and high-impact digital communications strategies and efforts that advance the Department’s goals and visibility
- Oversee online and social media marketing strategies for diverse audiences, highlighting online content that focuses on the NYPD’s work for posting to all websites and social media
- Create and post content for NYPD’s social media presence on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
- Develop strategies to use multimedia content, social media, SMS, website, and other digital media tactics to reach and engage a greater number of New York City residents
- Incorporate digital media into all communications efforts to maximize the effectiveness and reach of key messages
- Develop a digital first strategy and culture for breaking news
- Establish aggressive short- and long-term digital goals, and work with the broader team to execute them
- Work with the Deputy Commissioner and executive staff on overall communications planning and implementation, including message development, strategic guidance, and coordination
