The Bronx District Attorney is seeking an experienced attorney (3 years) to handle post-conviction litigation, including direct appeals, motion responses, and federal writs of habeas corpus.

Job Responsibilities
Specific duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Represent the People of the State of New York in appellate litigation on a wide range of constitutional and statutory law issues
- Address complex legal issues clearly and effectively in oral and written format
- Brief and argue a substantial caseload of appeals before the state and federal courts
- All other duties as assigned.
- A Juris Doctorate degree, 3 years of appellate attorney experience or the equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and New York State residency are required as of the first day of employment.
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively under deadlines
- Must understand and respond clearly and effectively (oral/written) to complex legal issues
- Ability to work nights, holidays, and weekends as needed
- Excellent presentation and organizational skills
- Ability to exercise good judgment and strong ethics
- Ability to analytically solve issues or problems from inception through conclusion
