Performs responsible semiskilled work enforcing parking regulations on City streets; does related work as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of a Police Sergeant or Lieutenant.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Inspecting parked automobiles for parking violations; marking tires and recording time.(The following tasks are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the position.)* Operates vehicle, patrols streets watching for over parked cars or other parking violations.* Operates electronic tire marker and associated software.* Writes tickets for parking violations.* Gives directions, answers inquiries from general public.* Utilize applications to monitor metered parking locations. * Checks for traffic hazards and forwards information to proper authority.* Checks parking lots, no parking areas and handicapped zones for violations.* Picks up and delivers money for parking tickets; delivers paperwork to court and related offices.* Directs traffic and monitor crowds at various events.* Reports malfunctioning and damaged city equipment, faded paint on curbs, vandalized signs and other obstacles that may impede enforcement or hinder the public from understanding and obeying the law.* Performs related tasks as required.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
