JOB OPPORTUNITY: Utility Construction Laborer
Are you a hands-on individual with experience in utility construction? The City of Nacogdoches Public Works Department is seeking a dedicated and physically capable Laborer to join our Utility Construction Division.
What You'll Do:
- Perform essential skilled manual labor for the installation, replacement, repair and maintenance of the City's water and sewer lines.
- Assist with water and sewer taps, pipe laying, backfilling and site compaction.
- Operate and maintain a variety of equipment and tools, including sewer rodders, jackhammers, trenchers and boring machines.
- Install and repair hydrants, meter valves and related pipeline apparatus.
- Work on a rotation with the call-out crew, subject to on-call and call-back work.
- Adhere strictly to all departmental safety training, policies and procedures.
We're looking for someone with:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- One (1) or more years of experience in utility maintenance and/or construction OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver license.
