Job Opportunity: Parks Supervisor
The City of Nacogdoches is seeking a dedicated and experienced Parks Supervisor to oversee the maintenance and improvement of City parks and landscaped areas.
What You'll Do:
- Administer, supervise and coordinate staff involved in park maintenance and improvement.
- Plan, supervise and participate in landscaping, maintenance and improvement projects for City landscaped properties.
- Train, instruct and assist in managing staff on park operations, procedures and safety precautions.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment, including mowers, weed eaters and trucks and determine materials needed on job sites.
- Assist in administering the City's Vector Control (mosquito-borne diseases) Program.
- Respond to and ensure timely feedback to clients and City staff regarding department matters.
We're looking for someone with:
- High school diploma/GED plus 2-3 years of supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver license is required.
- The ability to obtain a Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) license with both Public Health Pest Control (Vector) and Landscape Maintenance categories within six (6) months of hire date. (Possession of TDA license(s) will determine pay rate OR an additional certificate/license pay up to $100.00 per month)
- A valid Class B commercial driver license (CDL) or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire date. (Possession of a Class A or B CDL adds an additional certificate/license pay up to $160.00 per month.)
