What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth and Adult Programming Supervisor position at CITY OF MORAINE?
This position is responsible for supervising Parks and Recreation Programs and daily operations across the Parks and Recreation Division. This position will research, develop, instruct, monitor, and evaluate parks and recreation programs and assist with Special Events offered throughout the City of Moraine. Assist with the supervision of the division’s part-time employees and volunteers. Collects information and compiles reports, as directed. Provides excellent customer service. Attends meetings and training. Other duties as required. This position is expected to work 25-29 hours per week.
- High School Diploma or GED with one or more years of experience with recreation programs.
- Experience in implementing recreation programs (i.e., art and nature-based programs).
- Ability to think critically, creatively, and solve problems.
- Strong organization skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Enjoy working with all ages.
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check are required. All candidates must be willing to submit to random drug screenings.
- First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred. First Aid and CPR classes will be offered for candidates who are not already certified.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with diverse audiences.
- Assist in the training of Program Staff for recreation programs and opening/closing of facilities.
- Enforce facility rules in a fair and consistent manner.
- Address participant complaints and when needed relay or direct concerns to the Program Coordinators.
- Understand City recreation policies, regulations, and procedures to explain to co-workers and ensure compliance with stated City and division guidance.
- Respond to public inquiries about recreation programs made by telephone, email, or in person.
- Preparation of a variety of public brochures, calendars, letters, posters, news releases, flyers, and other publications regarding recreation programs.
- Coordinate, schedule, and maintain reports related to programs including the Clubhouse.
- Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance.
- Maintain regular and timely attendance.
- Perform administrative functions using the computer.
- Drive City vehicles.
- Perform other duties as required.
