About the Role:

The Skating Rink Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and well-organized environment for all visitors at the skating rink. This position involves overseeing the daily operations of the rink, including equipment rental, safety monitoring, and customer service. The attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, as well as assisting guests with any questions or concerns they may have. By actively promoting safety protocols and providing friendly support, the attendant helps create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall success and positive reputation of the skating rink.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 14 years old.
• Ability to work outdoors in cold weather conditions for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light physical tasks.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Availability to work weekends throughout the skating season (typically November through January)

Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist guests upon arrival, providing information about rink rules, schedules, and available services.
• Manage the rental and return of skating equipment, ensuring all items are in good condition and properly sanitized.
• Monitor the skating area to enforce safety guidelines and respond promptly to any accidents or emergencies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the rink.
• Operate and assist at the concession stand.

The Skating Rink Attendant uses strong interpersonal and communication skills daily to engage with guests, provide clear instructions, and resolve any issues efficiently. Attention to detail is essential for monitoring safety compliance and maintaining equipment quality. Physical stamina and coordination are important for managing equipment rentals and performing light maintenance tasks. Problem-solving skills help the attendant respond effectively to emergencies or unexpected situations.
