The City of Modesto is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Business Analyst to join our team. This key position plays a vital role in supporting the City’s economic development and business marketing initiatives.
The Senior Business Analyst is responsible to perform, organize, assign, and review the work of assigned personnel engaged in a variety of duties which promote the City's economic development and redevelopment efforts; including recruiting and attracting new business and industry, the creation and management of information, and the retention of current business investments; to perform duties requiring specialized knowledge; and to provide administrative support to assigned supervisor.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
This is the advanced journey level in the Business Analyst series. Positions at this level are distinguished from other classes within the series by the level of responsibility assumed, complexity of duties assigned, independence of action taken, the amount of time spent performing the duties, and the nature of the public contact made. Employees perform the most difficult and responsible types of duties assigned to classes within the series, including providing technical and functional supervision over assigned personnel and performing the more complex duties associated with economic and redevelopment efforts. Employees at this level are required to be fully trained in all procedures related to assigned areas of responsibility.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
Receives direction from a department director.
Exercises technical and functional supervision over assigned professional, technical, and administrative support staff.
