SUPERVISION
General supervision is provided by the Health Official or his designee.(Basic Level)
EDUCATION
High School Diploma or GED
Currently enrolled in a college or university with a degree plan that prepares the student for a career in public health/food safety or environmental health.
EXPERIENCE
No experience necessary.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Possession of a valid driver's license.
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
This position does not require a physical for employment.

SUPERVISION
General supervision is provided by the Health Official or his designee.(Basic Level)
- All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
- (All drivers with necessity) Drive to and from destinations as assigned by supervisor.
- Conduct inspections at food establishments according to City Health ordinances and the Texas Food Establishment Rules under the direction of Registered Sanitarians.
- Conduct inspections on swimming pools/spas under the direction of Registered Sanitarians.
- Update public information for use on the City's Health and Vector Control websites, coordinate activities with the Department web site administrator.
- Revise inspection forms for the Health Division as assigned.
- Research topical issues and best practices in the field of public health as assigned; provide support to the Health Official or other employees of the Department responsible for preparing ordinances related to public health.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
