Required Education and Experience:
- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
- Five (5) years of project management experience or increasingly responsible construction management and leadership experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a specific area of study as deemed applicable may substitute for three (3) years of experience.
Available Schedules:
- 8 hours daily, Monday - Friday
- Opportunity for alternate schedule after the first six (6) months:
- Teleworking up to 1 day per week
Compensation & Information on Benefits:
This position is part of the Non-Represented Group employee group.
The anticipated hiring range for the Parks and Facilities Project Manager position is $40.80 (first step) to $42.84 or $44.99 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, andqualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Examples of Job Duties: Essential Functions of the Position:
- Ensures projects are planned, designed, constructed, and completed within the given time constraints and budgets. Manages assigned projects from inception to completion.
- Assumes responsibility for assigned services and activities related to the management of capital improvement projects, including specifications and special provisions, bid documents, and professional contracts; ensures completion of projects within budgetary, regulatory, and time constraints.
- Provides accurate construction schedules for managed projects.
- Coordinates and provides technical direction and assistance to consultants, contractors, and staff.
- Collaborates with division staff on project development and specific specifications.
- Supervises the work of project contractors and consultants.
- Negotiates and prepares contract documents and agreements with contractors, working with other departments when necessary, and follows City and State contracting protocols.
- Develops and administers project budgets.
- Maintains project record-keeping and provides progress reports to department administration.
- Participates in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities; recommends and implements resulting policies and procedures.
- Attends a wide variety of meetings, makes project-related presentations, and responds to questions in a timely manner.
- Acquires building and other permits as needed for projects.
- Possesses knowledge of necessary laws, regulations and codes; ensures compliance with BOLI, OSHA and safety protocols.
- Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods.
- The scope of the assigned area will depend on the departmental structure and is as the discretion of the department director.
