This is a limited internship program with five (5) positions available. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Interns must be available to work up to 20 hours per week from late May through early August.

The City of Mansfield Internship Program is designed to expose students to various departments within local government. Internships are available throughout the year, with each internship session lasting up to 10 – 12 weeks. Interns will report directly to a designated Internship Coordinator throughout the length of their internship.

- It is the intention of the internship to provide college students with opportunities such as work assignments, research, attending meetings, and other relevant work activities that will broaden their understanding of opportunities within local city government.
- Interns will have exposure to the following departments, which provide support for multiple municipal functions. Interns may be placed in a rotation or a specific department that is relevant to their degree path and potential career interest.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Flexible, energetic, and outgoing
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work well in teams and independently
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to work morning, evening, and weekend hours as necessary
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Windows applications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- The internship is designed for college students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
- Interns will be expected to work up to 20 per week for ten to twelve calendar weeks. The intern should be flexible by working the times and dates assigned to you. The intern will have to work some evenings and weekends.
- The intern must have the ability to lift 50 lbs., answer phones, and operate a computer keyboard.
