Summary/Objective
The Concessions Supervisor manages all aspects of concession operations, from personnel management, customer service, and inventory management to financial oversight and compliance, ultimately contributing to the success and profitability of the concession division.
Essential Functions
Supervises operations of concessions.
- Develops, implements and revises operating policies and procedures related to concessions.
- Projects product quantities, monitors inventory levels of offerings, and orders and replenishes stock as needed to meet demand, ensuring quality control on all products.
- Oversees cleaning and maintenance of food service areas; ensures compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
- Requires availability during evenings and weekends, particularly during peak seasons and during tournaments
Monitors financial aspects of concessions.
- Manages cash handling procedures and ensures accurate accounting of sales transactions.
- Monitors and analyzes sales data to identify trends and opportunities for revenue growth.
- Recommends products and pricing structure to maintain appropriate profit margin and suggests methods for increasing over-the-counter sales.
Supervisory Responsibilities.
- Hires and trains staff members, as needed.
- Provides supervision and oversight of applicable staff.
- Coordinates schedules of applicable staff.
- Administers City of Manhattan Policies and Procedures in a consistent manner.
- Ensures employees supervised demonstrate productivity, competence, and high morale, as well as utilize employees’ skills and abilities.
- Conducts performance planning and evaluations for employees in a timely manner, to include development of goals, objectives, and deadlines.
- Resolves routine personnel issues or problems.
- Leads and manage staff with clear and consistent communications.
Other Duties.
- Serves as liaison with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts, manage deliveries, and resolve any issues related to product quality or availability
- Implements practices to minimize environmental impact, such as recycling programs or sustainable sourcing of products.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience.
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Two (2) years of experience in a related occupation or field.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must be able to obtain ServSafe Manager Certification within 90 days of employment
Preferred Education and Experience.
- Experience in food service or supervision preferably in a Concessions environment with inventory management and financial oversight
- Coursework in Food Service Management, Accounting, or Marketing.

- Retirement/Pension - City employees are required by statute to contribute to the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS). Voluntary retirement contributions are offered with Nationwide, Mission Square, and Empower KPERS 457.

- Education Reimbursement, Professional Development. Certifications/Licensure - The City will reimburse up to $8,000 per calendar year for tuition and fees. Professional Development funds are based on department budget. Certification/licensure may be reimbursed by the City.
