Job Summary
Seasonal CDL Driver transports Parks & Recreation participants to activities within and outside City limits. Operates City passenger vehicles including small buses, mid-size vehicles, and 15-passenger vans. Provides prompt, courteous service to participants of all ages. Must be available days, evenings, and some weekends.
Valid CDL (appropriate class) with passenger (P) endorsement; must maintain insurability under the City’s driving standards.

Job Duties
- Drive designated routes safely and in compliance with traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit requirements.
- Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations; transport Little Apple Day Camp participants.
- Maintain schedule when possible; communicate delays, incidents, or route issues to passengers and supervisor(s).
- Assist passengers, including those with disabilities, with boarding/exiting the vehicle as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip vehicle safety inspections each shift?(e.g., tires, lights, fluids) and report defects promptly.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- CDL with passenger (P) endorsement.
- Selected candidate(s) must pass a KBI background check and pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
- Must be 21 years or older.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (Available through Parks & Recreation if not already held).
- Must have an acceptable driving record.
- This is not a KPERS covered?position.
- Seasonal position (March –?August).
