The fundamental reason this classification exists is to provide flexible support across various recreational activities and areas, including covering shifts, assisting with events, and ensuring smooth operations, often requiring adaptability and strong customer service skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Floaters are expected to be adaptable and willing to work in different areas or roles as needed:
- Event Support: Assisting with the setup, execution, and cleanup of recreational events and activities.
- Customer Service: Providing friendly and helpful support to participants, guests, and staff, answering questions, and resolving issues.
- Facility Maintenance: Assisting with the upkeep and maintenance of recreational facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Program Support: Assisting with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational programs and activities.
- Assisting with administrative tasks, such as processing registrations, answering phones, and maintaining records.
Ability to:
- Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Establish priorities for own workload based upon such factors as the need for immediate action and work objectives.
- Understand and comply with oral and written instructions in the English language.
- Communicate orally with co-workers in face-to-face one-on-one settings, or using a telephone or two-way radio.
- Work cooperatively with other City employees.
- Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others
Work Environment:
- Sitting for extended period of time
- Exposed to computer screens
Requirements:
- Position requires the use of City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
- This position is subject to the City of Liberals Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes one or more of the following: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, reasonable suspicion testing, and follow-up testing.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check and any other pre-employment screenings.
